Creating, editing and deleting layouts
Layouts enable you to display various content at different times for a template. For example, you could have a sports template with a particular layout for Saturdays which emphasises Premier League football.
Any changes you make to a layout result in a new version of the layout being created; you can view a list of versions and revert to an earlier one if required. For example, where updates in the current layout are no longer appropriate, it would be quicker to revert to the previous layout than to change the current layout. A new identical version is created and shown on the history screen when reverting to an earlier layout.
Default layout
The default layout is used as a fallback. It is intended to mitigate any issues with unexpected schedule gaps, such as where no view matches the users request criteria or no current view has been scheduled due to technical or other issues. A default layout has no end date, and when no other layout is available, it will be returned to a device requesting a response from Rails builder services.
Setting the default layout
You will need to set one layout for each template as the default; see Scheduling layouts for details.
