Add rails to a layout

Add a rail

To add a rail to a layout in Rails Builder:

  1. Select the template in the Templates (left) pane.

  2. Click the layout that you want to add a rail to.

  3. Add a rail:

    • To add the first rail to a new layout, click edit.png Create Rail.

    • To add a new rail to an existing layout, in the Tools panel (on the right, click edit.png Add New Rail (or just edit.png if the Tools pane is collapsed).

  4. Click locale.png the Locale icon and select the locale for the rail.

  5. Give the rail a name and a title.

  6. Optionally:

    1. Under Default Rail Image Orientation, select the image orientation.

    2. Use Additional Properties to add any additional properties that are required for the layout.
      These enable you to apply additional formatting to templates according to your organisation's requirements.
      Note: these key/value pairs are created by the operator and are not controlled by NAGRAVISION.

    3. In Blueprint, select a blueprint to apply predefined values to the rail.

  7. Click Save Rail.

  8. Click Continue to save the rail.

The empty rail is added to the layout. You can now add content to the rail

Duplicate a rail

To duplicate a rail:

  1. Click the image-20250327-171628.png 3-dot menu on the rail and then click duplicate.png Duplicate Rail.

  2. The duplicated rail is opened for editing. Make any required changes, then click Create Rail.

  3. Click Continue to save the rail.
