Default encoding profiles
This document defines the default set of transcoding profiles for OpenTV Video Platform. They have been selected based on:
- Cost/performance
- Device compatibility
- Encoder capabilities
General settings are as follows:
- Passthrough hertz/framerate – framerate support will vary on device but target up to 60 fps for compatibility.
- The operator can choose to reduce number of variants on ABR sets
Encoding modes
- VOD 2 Pass, VBR
- Live CBR (capped), 1 pass
